Weekly Recap Newsletter (June 9th – 13th, 2025)

Updated: Jun 16

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week has been full of curiosity, practical learning, and joy as our learners explored exciting new topics.

Thank you for your continued support in nurturing and guiding your children with us. Here’s a look at what each class focused on this week:

🍼 Nursery Section Highlights

Playgroup – This week, we explored “My Body.” Learners engaged in fun activities to recognize and name basic body parts. Through songs like “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes,” mirror play, and interactive games, children began identifying their own features and those of others with growing confidence.

📌 Try this at home: Ask your child to touch or point to their nose, ears, and feet. Bonus: See if they can do it while singing their favorite body part song!

👶🏽 Baby Class – This week, we explored “Things Found in the Kitchen.” Learners identified common kitchen items through songs, stories, and playful object-matching.

📌 Try this at home: Ask your child to point out three things in the kitchen they learned about!

👁️‍🗨️ Middle Class – Our focus was on three-lettered words with the vowel "i" (e.g., pin, sit, lid). Learners practiced reading, spelling, and even building these words using letter cards. 📌 Ask: “Can you tell me a word with 'i' in the middle?”

🔠 Top Class – We introduced the double sound “ar” and explored related words like car, star, farm. Learners enjoyed word hunts and phonics games to boost their vocabulary.

📌 Encourage them to find “ar” words around the house!

📘 Lower Primary Section Highlights

📝 Primary One (P.1) – Learners discussed things we use to manage weather, such as umbrellas, raincoats, and sunglasses. They connected these tools to daily weather observations.

📌 Try this: “What would you wear on a rainy day?”

👩🏽‍🏫 Primary Two (P.2) – Our focus was on “-er” workers, including teacher, baker, farmer, builder, and painter. Learners matched tools to each profession and shared their career dreams!

📌 Ask: “Which ‘-er’ worker would you like to be?”

Primary Three (P.3) – This week was all about fractions! Learners used real-life examples like fruits and shapes to understand halves, quarters, and more.

📌 Ask them to show you how to cut a fruit in half or into quarters.

🎂 Special Moment of the Week: Martina’s Birthday!

This week, we had a joyful celebration as our dear learner Martina marked her birthday! 🥳 The day was filled with songs, laughter, cake, and sweet moments with friends and teachers.

📸 Thank you to Martina’s family for making it special. We loved celebrating this milestone with her!

🌿 Theme of the Week:

“Whoever obeys my commandments is the one who loves me.” (John 14:21)

This message reminded us that love is shown through obedience and respect. Learners reflected on ways to show love at home, in class, and within their friendships.

📌 Conversation starter: “How can you show love by following instructions?”

🎉 Coming Up:

We'd love to invite all fathers to our Father's Day breakfast on Friday, 20th June 2025. We can't wait to celebrate you fathers!
