Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we wrap up the month of June, we want to say thank you for your continued support and encouragement. It’s been another fulfilling week of learning, laughter, and discovery here at Palm School.
🍼 Nursery Section Highlights
👶🏽 Baby Class – Our little ones explored the sound “r” through songs, flashcards, and picture games. They also learned about sources of light, like the sun, torches, and candles, with lots of excitement during practical demonstrations!
📌 Try this: Ask your child, “What things give us light at night?”
👁️🗨️ Middle Class – This week’s focus was Things Found in the Kitchen. Learners identified common items through sorting games and role-play. In numeracy, they practiced recognizing which number comes before a given one using counters and number lines.
📌 Ask: “Can you name three things you saw in the kitchen this week?”
🔠 Top Class – We introduced Articles (a, an, the) and the “oa” double sound, related words like boat, coat, and soap. Learners practiced using them in sentences through storytelling and phonics games.
📌 Practice at home: “Can you spot anything around you with the ‘oa’ sound?”
📘 Lower Primary Section Highlights
📝 Primary One (P.1) – P.1 learners dived into Fractions —halves, quarters, and wholes using cutouts and real objects. In literacy, they learned about Homophones, like sun and son, and had fun using them in writing!
📌 At home: Try a homophone matching game during dinner time!
🦓 Primary Two (P.2) – This week, we explored the animal kingdom! Learners identified different animals and insects, grouped them into wild and domestic, and shared what they’ve seen around their homes.
📌 Ask: “Which animal did you like learning about most this week?”
🌱 Primary Three (P.3) – P.3 learners focused on saving resources like money, water, and electricity, and learned how small actions make a big impact! In science, they explored useful vs. harmful insects and studied the parts of a fish.
📌 Encourage this: “What’s one way you can save water at home?”
🎥 Weekly Recap Video Alert!
We’re excited to bring you a quick video summary of this week’s classroom highlights, from phonics and fractions to kitchen fun, sports, gardening and science discoveries! Watch our learners in action as they grow, explore, and enjoy each day.
Here’s what each of our classes got up to this past week:
🌿 Weekly Theme: God our Father will only ask us to do what we can do.
This week’s spiritual theme encouraged all of us to embrace our strengths and do our best without fear. It was a beautiful reminder that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. 💛
📖 Memory Verse:
“For all things I have the strength through the One who gives me power.”
—Philippians 4:13
📌 Reflection question: “What is one thing you did this week that made you feel strong and brave?”
and photos from this special day. 💙
💛 Thank You
As always, thank you for being part of our Palm family. Your partnership makes all the difference in your child’s learning journey. Here's to more discovery, joy, and growth in the weeks ahead!
With love,
